What does “NCR” stand for?
NCR stands for ‘no carbon required’. This is a type of paper that doesn’t contain carbon, unlike standard bond paper you might use daily. NCR paper is typically used in duplicate pads, sets or books. This is where the user requires instant multiple copies of what is being written, for example; an invoice or receipt where the company keeps a copy and the customer receicves ther other copy.
This offers small, large or in fact any size business the modern choice to avoid using outdated and messy carbon paper. NCR paper or “carbonless” paper enables you to easily transfer handwritten information from a top sheet to the sheets underneath.
It works by using a layer of ink capsules and clay that react together under pressure, leaving an accurate copy which is neater than old fashioned carbon copies.
NCR paper comes in many colours and sizes. The colours available are white, blue, green, pink and yellow. These colours come in most standard paper sizes like DL, A6, A5, A4, A3 and larger. There are common finishing styles to how the NCR paper is used. This is glued pads which are most popular in 50 sets per pad. Tip glued sets which all separate and are used loosely. Stitched books are the neatest way to keep you NCR forms and they tear out along the perforated edge after use to hand out to clients or keep for the business.
